Notice: English uses "I am" for age. Spanish uses "tener" (to have).

Tip for Spanish Speakers

Articles with jobs: In English you need "a" before a job: "I'm a student." In Spanish you don't: "Soy estudiante." This is one of the most common mistakes — don't forget the "a"! Artículos con profesiones: En inglés necesitas "a" antes de la profesión: "I'm a student." En español no: "Soy estudiante." ¡No olvides la "a"!
